After unauthenticated cross-dressing photos of East Cleveland Mayor Eric Brewer surfaced. He lost the the Mayoral Primary last night to City Council President Gary Norton. Do you think these photos played a role in the election???

“EAST CLEVELAND — The votes have been cast in the Democratic mayoral primary between incumbent Mayor Eric Brewer and his challenger, City Council President Gary Norton, and with unofficial results, Norton has emerged a winner.

With all 18 of 18 precincts counted by 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Norton wins decisively with 2,015 votes to Brewer’s 1,147, unofficially a nearly 2 to 1 margin.

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections says Norton will be unopposed in the Nov. 3 election so Norton can be assumed to be the mayor-elect.”

Brewer released this statement following the results:

”It’s kind of a bittersweet situation for me, we worked hard … we brought open government back to East Cleveland, we got the water rates lowered, we reduced crime by 40 to 75 percent, we brought respect back to the city…. The reality is the only thing that got him over was the media broadcasting the information, pictures that had not been authenticated.”
